Don’t you love Spring in Colorado? You can enjoy a bike ride in 70-degree weather one day, and wake up to 18 inches of snow the next! Spring is also a symbol of new beginnings. In your Colorado Chapter of HFMA, June 1st is the beginning of our new fiscal year. Your next President, Gina Eastin has already been developing a vision for continued growth in our Chapter.
As I reflect on the last year, I first want to recognize the amazing volunteers we have in our Chapter who plan and coordinate all of our educational and networking events, as well as everything that happens in our Chapter! If you are interested in getting more involved in volunteering, please check out our website for more information and to see what opportunities are available.
Thank you for those who participated in our annual Chapter Membership Survey. We received so many suggestions from you on ways to improve our educational programs, the newsletter, networking opportunities and our website. Speaking of the website, we just completed an overhaul based on the feedback we’ve been receiving from you. Please check it out! The number one recommendation we received in the survey was to improve the educational topics at our programs.
If you were able to attend any programs this last year, you should have recognized some changes we implemented, such as:
- Women in leadership events
- Pre-Conference sessions for early careerists
- Networking activities that expanded the Great Fall Conference into a “Retreat”
- Replacing the Uninsured Conference and All Payor Day with a Revenue Summit
- Joining the Chapters in Region 11 of HFMA for a Western Symposium in Las Vegas
It has been a privilege for me to be a part of your Chapter leadership team. I look forward to what Gina and her team have in store for our Chapter!
