President's Report

Benjamin Franklin said, “Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”

I’m not sure I can write something that you all will find worth reading, but I can say Colorado HFMA has done a lot worth writing!

The commitment your leadership team has made is to provide you with 5 Star Service Excellence.  Colorado HFMA is committed to providing personal & professional growth to our members through peer to peer connections, up-to-date tools and tangible takeaways within our Events, Education, Certification, and Networking Opportunities.  We hope you are finding it easy to mark 5 stars on all our surveys and that you will make HFMA your preferred organization for education.

The Great Fall Rural Conference was a huge success this year. Speaking as an attendee from a healthcare facility, I learned some very valuable information to take back to the organization for improvement. The comments on the surveys were very positive and it was a great opportunity to network and meet new contacts and friends within the industry.  Grand Junction was a new location for us, and while it was across the state for me, it was well worth the trip! Many of us loved the Colorado National Monument outing.  Thanks everyone that joined for the support and camaraderie.  Thank you to our business partners who helped sponsor the event, it doesn’t happen without you all!

Our webinar series is perfect for those lunch and learn education sessions.  We’ve had some great FREE webinars and provided an inexpensive Medicare Boot Camp series. We hope you share with your co-workers and if you do please let us know who all attended.  We get credit as a chapter for the number of attendees, so it helps us and we can provide attendance certificates for those who would like to show education completion. We are trying to listen for opportunities to help you in your daily needs and from that we are planning a “Price Transparency” webinar to help focus on meeting the Senate Bill 17-065 requirements due January 1, 2018.

Workshops, come in small packages but bring a powerful punch to your education opportunities! We have started a Physician Billing & Coding Series by Michele Olivier, that is traveling the state.  Check out the website and watch your e-mails for the details! We hope to see you there.

The next conferences are in the planning stages. Watch for details on the Compliance Conference, Chargemaster Workshop, and our Annual Conference!

If you’d like to be more involved with HFMA, please let us know.  We are always looking for those with a passion to help others and want to be part of a great organization.

A lot worth writing! Thank you to our team and you our members for making the Colorado HFMA chapter great! To wrap it up with another great Benjamin Franklin quote, “Well done is better than well said!”  Well done Colorado! Have a great holiday season and we’ll see you at our next event!
